I think this is a juvenile white crowned but I'm not the greatest sparrow guy. Taken in Oceanside, California last week. I had the flash on but it did not fire, it fired before and after but this was the best image of the three.

Canon 1D, 500F4IS, 2xII, ISO 200, f9, evaluative +2/3, 1/500 sec.

Mike nailed the ID. White-crowned Sparrows have clean chests (no streaking). Really nice shot!

The little Tenor!!

Image:
Great pose and detail, lovely perch, wonderful light and detail, great side view as well, the dark band on the BG is the only thing distracting on the image!!, Otherwise very nice!!! Congrats!! 8)

Singing like crazy. Great perch with the blossoms. The slight darkening of the background on the right side of the frame is a minor nit, but I had to look at the image for a while to see it.

Really nice capture. Although there is some shadow on the bird, the light on the front is great and I really like it without any flash. Well done.
