Hi Geo, I just had a play with this in PS. Went into Colour Balance and moved the slider towards Magenta and Yellow in Midtones. Then increase Contrast slightly and the result is a much more natural colour, losing the blue cast. No doubt others can do much better than me on this, but thought I would share this anyway.

Great shot by the way!!

Hi Geo,

What do you think about this version:
Image
Can't exactly explain how to do it in detail. I've done it as a first try with PaintShop Pro 8 - "one step photofix" and I like what this function has done to the picture. It's probably possible to get a better result by doing it "manually" and not automatically.
Anyway a very cool picture, I like it!
To show you this version I hosted the pic on my homepage, if you don't like that I will delete it. Or else I delete it in some weeks anyway.

All the best!

Thomas' repost really makes this one look so much better as it eliminates the washed out foggy look. The photo itself is very cool!

The image is very nice. As for the blue cast, I am just a novice but in Elements the Auto Color correction did wonders.

With the blue cast, this is a good photo, without the cast, this is so much better.

IMAGES -->ADJUST -->AUTO COLOR did the trick in PS as well.

Cool picture!

One way to fix the color cast is to use the Levels method in PS. Use the Levels dialog in PS. Find the the darkest pixel that is really supposed to be black, and check the RGB levels at that spot (say it's 18 18 8). In Levels, double-click the black eye dropper and set to 8 8 8. Then click the spot in the picture with the black eye dropper selected. Then find the brightest pixel that should be white, and check- say it's 220 220 240. Douuble click the white eye dropper, set to 240 240 240, click the pixel with the white eye dropper. That should do it, as long as the areas you set are really black and white and not another hue.

Julie W is the master of this stuff. In digital captures, this is easily set in Raw conversion with software...

Very cool shot-especially with the blus cast removed. Is this lunge feeding or one whale of many in a bubble net situation?
