This shot was taken on a workshop with the Triple D Game farm in Utah last year. My workshop had ended but I decided to stay for one day into the second workshop as opposed to shooting in Zion NP with several friends. They were hoping for a sunrise shot which they did not get as we had these dark clouds in the early am instead. I had one more great day of shooting and the Triple D staff kept asking me "wouldn't you rather be shooting rocks?" My answer was an unequivical NO. I met up with my friends in Zion that evening and we had a great sunrise the next morning.

I was going through some of my images -getting mentally prepared for the STL workshop next month at Triple D in Montana. I am especially looking forward to shooting the cats on this trip.

Cheryl,
Zowee! The contrast between the cougar and the dark blue sky is enchanting to say the least. And the cougar's pose, the low position looking up, very very nice.

"Gorgeous cat in gorgeous light." Amen! Even the OOF rock in the foreground works well here providing a nice contrast with the tack-sharp cat. (Is this Andy - or his mother?)

Cheryl,

Oh man, this is awesome!! You know how much I love big cats and I would love the opportunity to shoot these guys someday if I could tear myself away from the birds.

Good luck next month and I can't wait to see the digital version of this ;)
