I think this is probably a 2nd winter cub with mom, given its size. Taken on one of the un-sunny days in Churchill 2001. I liked the interaction in this image, wish mom was looking a bit more toward us.
Cropped about 20% bottom and right.
The "halo" around mom's head was there on the original file, it is not a sharpening artifact.
Canon D30, 500mm, beanbag on window mount from Tundra Buggy.

Wonderful Cindy, just wonderful. The head angle is minor and more then made up for by the tender licks from the cub... Very nice..

Great shot. I know I would have messed up the exposure. Well done. :D

Very nice. Concur with Dennis, the licking more than offsets the slight tilt away, which doesn't bother me here given the position of the cub. The raised rear foot also suggests a hint of dynamism as a bonus.

Great interaction between the two!

I was quite intimidated when I saw how big these bears really are in the Anchorage airport. I would not want to get too close to one for sure!

WOnderful shot! I'm not sure having Mom looking toward the camera would improve this, it works very well as is.
