Heather and I stopped at Oak Hammock Marsh on the way back from Churchill this past June. Since we only had a couple of hours to kill we decided to have some fun with the ground squirrels. I shot this guy in the parking lot near the colony, which is conveniently (for the squirrels I mean) located in the middle of the picnic area.

EOS 1D, EF 600/4L IS, manual exposure, 1/400 @ F8, ISO 250

Nice going boss, I like how he is climbing up over the rock to give you a stare. Looks like you stopped him in his tracks :P Just kidding. Hey thanks for coming over and posting in FFM. Great shot...

Another one that needs a cuteness alert! I like the head-on view and pose on the rock. Sweet!

Well done. Love the look he's giving you.
Even though there are millions of these guys around here, and they're considered nuicances, I love photographing them. Despite the odd looks I get from passers by.

Sweet shot and unusual pose make this a nice change from the usual images of these guys.

Nice one!

Love the look, the background, and the coming over the rock approach. And by the look on his face, I know just what he's thinking: "What, no handout?" :)

Our flights had been rearranged several times by the airline and with the last revision we were forced to spend a night in Winnipeg. I was actually pretty glad about this, and we got to spend a relaxing afternoon at Oak Hammock Marsh with these unbelievably cute ground squirrels.

This one perched up on the rock is my favorite, and you captured every element of its character in the expression here.

Funny how the most burrows were around the picnic tables...
