You continue to impress me with your very slow shutter speed work. Nice up close Coyote portrait. I like the pose. If I had to find a nit it would be that the point of most critical focus may be slightly ahead of the eye, but in this light, not much you can do to get more DOF ..Thanks for posting..

An excellent portrait - a little more aggressive application of USM would really make it pop off the screen.

Thanks, Dennis.

The focus issue is part of the 10D front focus problem. Camera went to Canon service after this was shot.

In this instance, I didn't toss the image because enough was sharp, particularly with the nose and hair. I may have desaturated the magenta a hair too much and could add some more USM although I don't want to overdo thagt.

I noticed you were using a remote release. Maybe that helps explain the great slow shutter shots.
