Lar Gibbon
Captive
EOS30, Sigma 100-300 F4, Provia 100F, Handheld,

This shot is from the same wildlife park as the Lions, Meerkats, Sumatran Tigers and Spectacled Bear. All the animals were in wonderful natural surroundings with great freedom to roam and seemed very natural and stimulated, which is always a joy to see.

This Lar Gibbon (I think - please correct me if I'm wrong!) saw me approaching and as I lifted the camera, he posed so beautifully I had to take this shot.
:)
All comments and critiques always welcome and appreciated and thanks for looking.

Very nice! Can't confirm the ID but this Gibbon certainly did pose nicely for you. Looks like an executive portrait! Actually many of the executive portraits I've seen were of much less handsome critters!

Clearly its one of those critters with a Fuji contract!

Great photo- it really does look like he posed for you. I like how the branch frames the upper corner.

Ths pose and framing are wonderful, really a neat shot.

Very Sweet. The pose is wonderful and I like how the branch frames him in. Nice job on the exposure.

Don't you just love it when the subject does all the work? Outstanding result, Carol. :)

This adorable little critter certainly posed for you nicely with a perfect background/frame, and cute expression, and you did a great job also. I would guess that the exposure here was a challenge.

Its not fair.

Carol, all you girls have to do is to blow a few kisses and give them a few winks and they pose beautifully.
The guys have to beg, steal, curse, and everything else just to get them to sit still!
Its just not fair!

I can sum up my feelings real easy with this one Carol.
It just made my whole day!!! :)

Thanks for all your very kind comments everyone, they are much appreciated. This little guy was a natural and appears so relaxed - but if you look at his little feet aren't they just a tiny bit clasped together - as though he was a but shy? - maybe its just me!! :?

Carol,

As I looked at this image I focused on it's eyes. It was like I could see it's soul, weird. Excellent work, there is something mystical about this image.

Wow, Carol, this is as good as it gets. You've really captured this guy in a perfect pose and perfect setting, and his personality really comes through. Congrats on one of the best primate shots I've seen.
