It was almost two months ago that I had the pleasure of meeting and shooting with several NSN colleagues at the NANPA regional meeting at Custer. This handsome ram was most tolerant of the cadre of photographers below him and indeed almost appeared to be showing off for the audience of admirers.
Canon Eos 10D, Canon 70-200/2.8 at 200; 1/125 at f6.3. Hand held, no flash. Cropped slightly on top. Minor PS adjustments. Any and all comments or revisions appreciated.

Very nice shot. great pose. Are you sure he isn't stuffed. What fun it must have been to have such a cooperative subject.

Hi Joe---this is very nicely done! (I think I know this guy. :) ) You got a wonderful pose and a nice turn of the head. Did anyone ever say if there is a purpose to the dark patch in front of the eye?

Very majestic ram, and it looks like he knows it too.

The ram is excellent, however there is a very distracting opening in the leaves above his rump. I would clone some green leaves in that space and I believe it would improve the image.

Nice work and great experience. Its always fun to have such cooperative subjects. I never had luck with the rams at Custer.. I agree with Richard about dealing with the highlights in the background as an option for further PS work.. Terrific post..

Despite the BG highlights I think this is wonderful. The sharpness and position if the Ran are wonderful. I really love the way he's gazing into the distance.
