This little guy, probably about two years old, was a lot of fun to watch as he wrestled with his older siblings, usualy getting sent rolling head over foot down the hill only to keep coming back for another try. Once the wrestling died down, he took a moment to consider the white apes observing him, and I took this shot. 1Ds at ISO250, 70-200IS at 200mm, 1/160 at f6.3, full frame.

Great shot Matt. What an incredible experience it must have been to see and photograph the gorillas.

It's a privilege to see an animal portrait like this. The I can only guess the difficulties a photographer would endure to be able to have the opportunity to photograph this species. Nice going. 8)

This is outstanding and I greatly appreciate your sharing it here.. A terrific experience as well. On the technical side, to get the exposure perfect for the subject the foreground leaves are a little bright to my eye and maybe a little selective burning would keep the focus on the main subject. Its really minor though and this is certainly an outstanding photo as is..

A beautiful face. A few small nits but the expression is priceless.

What a sweet looking little guy! Other than the slightly bright leaves I think this is great!
