Columbian Ground Squirrel - Banff National Park, Alberta, Canada
EOS 1Ds, 70-200 @ 200mm, 1/640, f/8, ISO 200

These little guys are all over the place in the Banff area. On this day I lay down on the ground in the middle of an area with a whole bunch of squirrel holes. Once I got on the ground, they went about their business as if I wasn't there often coming within one foot of me.

I really like cute little critters like this. The head turn towards you really adds a great deal to this IMHO.. Well done as usual EJ..

Wonderful all around, from the turn of the head to the placement of the paws to the overall composition. Only question: what's a Columbian squirrel doing in Canada? Sounds like a long commute. :)
