I found this mountain goat a bit north of the Columbia Icefield in Jasper National Park. Shortly after I shot this, it began climbing the cliff, far more nimbly than I could ever imagine doing myself.

A nice capture of a difficult shooting situation.

Kelly,

You nailed the exposure on the goat. I like how you included some of the impending climb terrain.

Excellent!!

This is a good shot showing the daunting environment these goats live in, capturing the snow, the rocks and the steep climbs - and the weary looking animal!

Nice one!

Good exposure! Its certainly got a beautiful coat.

This must be next to the road. The very bottom of the frame has an unnatural level surface.

Great shot, wish for just a slither more at the bottom so that the virtual leg doesn't appear to be cut-off below the snow.

Yes, this goat came down to the road to lick up a bunch of salt, and I waited and waited for it to go up so I could get some more interesting photos without the road for a background. Finally it did, right after I took this one. I cloned in some extra snow at the bottom to try to get rid of that "along the road look," but don't know if this appears real or not. There was no cloning or genetic manipulation of any kind on the goat though.
