Everyone is on a lion kick so I thought I should post some of mine.. Sad about the whacky light, but I think it still works pretty well...

D100, 80-400VR@330mm, 1/640@F5.6 ISO 200, Handheld

Jeff, great shot! Yikes, only 330 mm, and it looks like you were too low to be shooting from a jeep. The tongue action is great.

I was in Madikwe National Park in June, which is northwest of Joburg and borders Botswana... Staying at Jaci's Safari Lodges....shameless plug for my friends...

The rest of the pride of about 7 lions were already in a food coma, but fortunatley this guy just would not leave this bit alone...
