Well, here is the third Elk in fog picture. A standard portrait shot. I can't believe all of the other amazing elk images that I have seen in the past few weeks. They have been some of the best elk pics I 've seen. I guess this is typical of this site! I wonder if everyone is jealous of everyone else when they view the images here? :?

Thanks for looking,

James

Very nice - I have really enjoued these. In this one, correcting the slight fall-off in the corners would make it even better.

Nice close up James.. The fog gives a very nice early morning feel to it. It also makes a very nice background to have a good look at the antlers. If this is a crop, I think it would be as good with a little bit more space all the way around..but excellent as is. Thanks for posting ..

James,

Very well done, I really like the mood created by fog/mist. Great series.

The mood is great!

I concur with EJ about the light fall-off--it's in all four corners, but only a problem at the top. What lens was this?

Just a bit more room for his feet would have been nice.

Still a great image!

This is my personal favorite of the three, James, because of the simplicity of the shot and the monochrome look throughout. I agree that a touch more space all around could be an improvement, and I too am interested in knowing what lens combo led to the vignetting observed here.

Jim,
Very nice shot. I missed the other 2 but just went back to check them out. You had a great day with this guy.

James- another beautiful shot- this is my favorite of the three. A bit tight, but still with all of the body parts.

Yes, Wildlife has really been hopping this week! With the onset of winter, its really gotten very busy.

Any idea on numbers on this one? Time of day, lens setting and length? I ask since i am heading to the National Elk Refuge in February and need some ideas.

Thanks

Don G
