Ok, this is not the best coyote nor the best birds, but if any of you have been to Bosque you will have fond memories from this image.

The coyote keep the geese hopping from one end of the fields to the other and occasionally from both ends simultaneously causing oh, 5000 birds to flee for their lives...and in to the waiting cameras...or jaws for the slow ones. I saw coyote take 3 snow geese this way in 5 days.

Enjoy the memory.

Nikon D100, Betsy (Sigma 300-800) 600mm, 1/640@F6.3, ISO 400, cropped off bottom quarter of dead space.

Cheers,
Jeff

Jeff,

While this is not a great shot technically, the activity is both educating and entertaining. I hope I see something like this at Bosque. thanks for sharing the image and the story.

I like the action conveyed. Very effectively documents the chase and the taking to the air.. Thanks for posting Jeff.

Jeff, you and Betsy caught some great action here! It would be nice to see some faces, but I'd be happy with this as it is.
