This is Shere Khan who resides at "Wildlife on Easy Street" in Tampa, Florida. "Wildlife" is a sanctuary for approximately 177 large cats who have been abused, rescued from people who tried to keep them as pets, etc. The cats live in very large environments called "Catitats". They're much larger than cages and have natural surroundings to make the animals feel at home. Many even have air conditioned caves. Shere is on a large tract of land down by a river so she can swim if she's moved to do so. This photo was taken from a wooden suspension bridge just over her. To give you an idea of how close I was, the focal length here is 98mm. and the photo is largely uncropped except to put it at 4X5 ratio.

This is absolutely stunning!! Very beautiful animal. I love how she is framed by the vegetation.

A wonderful image! I actually like it better as a horizontal with the bright upper leaves cropped out.

Great colors in this image. Beautiful cat. The leaves in the ULC seem a little bright but could easily be toned down. I like how they help frame the cat. thanks for sharing the info on the location.

Stunning! But I think its even more effective with the leaves cropped off the top.

Beautiful image. Thanks for the info on the park. I'll be in Tampa in couple of weeks. Hopefully I can find a couple of hours to visit the catitats.

You don't indicate if this was flashed or not - the very bright foreground leaves makes me think it was. the Tiger, ground and tree trunks are fantastic. I think the leaves coming in above the tiger are too bright and take the eye away from the main subject. Cropping the top half takes this from a very good to a fantastic photo for me.

There was no flash used for the shot. The bright leaves are probably due to the reflection from the river about a foot or two away.
