The same moose as yesterday's post, but this clearly shows how cleanly the antler was broken off at the base. I've seen lots of bulls with broken tines, one with the upper palm broken off, but this is the only one I've ever seen with the antler broken off at the base.

It would be interesting to see how much force it took to break an antler such as this. Obviously when they fight, there's a lot of strength and energy going into the battle.

Sometimes the injuries are more debilitating than this... stay tuned for the next post. Be fore warned, the next post will be graphic.

Nice comp Tim, there is a diagonal corner to corner formed by the muzzle, head and then horns.. Good work, nice motif series.

Great composition Tim - I was just thinking - good diagonals and then saw Dennis's comments!!

I wonder if they feel more vulnerable with only one antler? I love the way you've caught him looking off into oblivion....

Tim, I also liked the diagonals. The details on the face and eye are great. Is it my imagination, or does he look embarrassed?

This is a really different pose Tim and I like it. The greenery and BG really add to the image.
