The same moose as yesterday's post, but this clearly shows how cleanly the antler was broken off at the base. I've seen lots of bulls with broken tines, one with the upper palm broken off, but this is the only one I've ever seen with the antler broken off at the base.
It would be interesting to see how much force it took to break an antler such as this. Obviously when they fight, there's a lot of strength and energy going into the battle. Sometimes the injuries are more debilitating than this... stay tuned for the next post. Be fore warned, the next post will be graphic. Tim
