Elk Calf Rocky Mountain National Park

This was taken yesterday shortly after we arrived at RMNP. I forgot and left the camera set at ISO 800 from the low light shooting I was doing Saturday evening. This is one of a sequence of shots of the calves running after the adult cows.

I'm really amazed at the image quality at ISO 800. There is some noise but not as bad as I would have thought.

10D, 300/4 IS, 1.4x
Eval @ -2/3, SS 1/3200, Av @ f5.6, ISO 800
Handheld
Cropped to 11X14 format

Comments, critiques, and reposts are always welcome. Thanks for looking. :)

Cool shot. He is .rRunning like he has not a care in the world. Very nice capture. I too have been amazed at the quality of the 10D up to ISO 800.

I really like that you've captured this little one in mid-skip and I love the environmental aspects of this shot! :) Very nice!

Bill, Great one! Good timing to catch him mid-stride, and with that expression that seems almost playful.
