Please forgive the Elements of Humankind in this shot, but it fits the Motif so well...

Shot beside Medicine Lake in Jasper last Sunday with Chas' workshop. The sheep were very interested in licking the road salt from the cars. To get pictures without the cars we had to herd the sheep away. (Dennis, the vet, was particularly good at it.)

I borrowed a Sigma 15-30 (at least I think that's what it was) from one of the participants for this shot, which was probably at 15 mm. The wide angle at close range really emphasizes the size of the horn! The problem with using such a wide angle lens is ensuring you don't bump the lens into your subject...

Paul,

This is so cool. I love the deformation in the rams curl and I dont mind that you posted it here for this weeks motif. I am glad you were able to join us to shoot that day.

Really enjoyed working with you in the field before and during the workshop. The wide angle really pushes the HORN here and I like that..

Paul, It was good meeting you over Sunday. The wide angle perspective here is really cool - I like what it does to the horn!

Paul, this is freaky man. The wide angle really puts the horn in your face!

Best,

Chas

ROFL! Perhaps the most unusual shot I've seen of a very big-horned bighorn! Wide angle works wonderfully here!
