This was taken in September in Yellowstone NP with a Canon G3 and then cropped. The little black blob in the LLC is a bison carcass. Steve

Welcome aboard, Steve. I like this shot because it really says Yellowstone, with the mountain backdrop, the new growth trees, and the elk herd in the meadow. The exposure and composition are very good, especially the group of mature trees anchoring the frame. Only suggestions are, since most of the herd is facing to the left, it would be nice if they were concentrated more to the right of the frame, and I definitely think more sharpening would help your presentation on the web.

Welcome to NSN. This is definitely an 'animalscape' that says 'Yellowstone'. The colors make it look almost like a painting.

Nice "elkscape" The September colors are nicely rendered.

A late welcome here, just getting caught up after a long trip. AnimalScapes are some of my favorite types of shots. This works well.. Hope to see many more images in the future and welcome again.
