 Jasper NP, Alberta, Canada I just returned from a great STL with Charles Glatzer and Tom Hill. We photographed bighorn sheep, moose, elk, deer, coyotes... This image was taken the first day of the workshop and is one of my favorite ram shots. Unfortunately, we did not get to see any head butting on this trip although the rut was very close. We did see a lot of the pictured behaviour, `flehmen' or `flehming' where the male sniffs the female or her urine to assess her hormonal level and readiness for mating.
