Nothing exciting about the quality of the photo, but certainly an old bull.

I found him resting in the ditch in Denali NP in late August. It was in the closed area near the park entrance so there was very limited opportunity to improve the photo since all people are restricted to the road. Of course he had already attracted a crowd, although many people took one quick look and moved on. He seemed almost embarrassed by all of the attention. Considering there's a wolf pack in the area, I doubt he'll make it through this winter.

EOS 3, 500/4 IS, Provia, f4, maybe 1/15 to 1/20 on the shutter.

Poor guy, he looks like he's seen better days.

Ouch! The harsher side of nature photography, a sad image indeed.

Tim, this is definitely an image that fits the motif and shows a side of the moose life cycle that is rarely photographed. Although he's obviously seen better days, it's good to know that this magnificent animal was given the chance to live out his life to old age.

I think this image really reinforces the fact that we come into this world with nothing and we can take nothing with us when we depart - except the knowledge we have absorbed along the way. Thank heaven the 'exterior body' is just the shell that houses the soul which does not decay.

Very emotive shot Tim.

Very powerful shot Tim. This guy has definitely seen better days. thanks for sharing the less 'pretty' side of nature.
