I've been out of town for about a week- had hoped to post this during the motion motif since the falling snow fit the bill. Oh well!

This was taken while out pursuing the local moose in the middle of September with one of our lurkers (Milo). We watched and followed him for maybe 2 hours. Intially he was in more open terrain with his harem of half a dozen cows, but then several of them moved into the timber and he followed. Getting a clean shot was challenging since they were all moving around and it was difficult to anticipate were he'd go next. Plus there was the constant concerning of bumping into one of the cows at close range.

This is the best image with a slow SS, which emphasizes the falling snow.

Wow, Great image. Love the falling snow and the composition. That the eye is sharp and visible is a bonus.

The falling snow really conveys a cold feeling in this image. I like the way the moose somewhat blends into the environment. The sharp eye is excellent.

This is very "cool" - it would be a great shot without the snow but the snow really gives it something extra. Great shot!

Hey Tim,

I really like this a lot. The snow sets the entire scene off very nicely. Tough shot to expose, and you managed it well. What film is this on?

I think the tree in the f/g really helps this image, where usually such an element would detract from it. To me, it helps emphasize the 'forest' idea.

Excellent.

Cheers

Carl

Good shot Tim, very graphic record of the harsh conditions these animals survive in.

Very nice Tim, I like the blurred snow and you nailed the exposure. We weren't sure what we were going to end up with here and they turned out nice. I also like how the body is cropped by the vegetation and the snow on his palms is awesome.

Very nice. Love the snow collecting on the antlers, the falling snow, the visible eye - really nice in a shot like this - and the open mouth. Looks like he's getting a snack. Would suggest just a small crop to remove the partial tree on the far right. It also looks like it has a slight magenta cast which would be easily corrected.
