S2, ISO200, 80-400VR, f5.3 1/350.
One of my favourites from a short visit in August whilst on the way to Glacier Nat park.
A low sun filtered through the smoke of the forest fires created an unbelievable light, almost too warm, but it really suited this magnificent animal and whilst this image doesn't really do her justice there is no mistaking the power lurking behind those eyes.

Regards

John

John, This is a wonderful image of a beautiful animal. Her stare is so intent but it's the power of that paw that intimidates me.

Fantastic! I couldn't agree more when you say there is no mistaking the power lurking behind her eyes.

Thank you all for your kind comments.
The print version of this I feel is much better, not only because the fur detail is far more apparent at the larger size but the colour seems "better" too. I think the large black matte I have around the image sets the colour in context and brings the picture to life.
Thanks again for all your responses.

Regards

John

I never tire of images of this beautiful cat - and there have been a few lately! She is a magnificent animal though and very photogenic.
