Another Red Fox image from Prospect Park near Denver taken last February. On bright days like this these guys normally squint and getting them with both their eyes open can be a challenge. In this almost backlit image his face was partially shaded from the sun and he opened his eyes nicely.

35mm, 600mm f/4, Tripod, Provia 100F

All comments greatly appreciated. Thanks

Nice and sharp image of a healthy specimen. I like the light you were dealing with, handled well.

Very nice shot, Alan. You nicely used the light bounce off the snow to even out the contrast, set exposure perfectly, and that's a really beatiful animal. I'll have to check this park out next year.

Know what you mean about these guys squinting! Would have preferred something other than backlit, but you've made the most from the situation before you - and a very nice situation at that, any time you get a clear close shot of a cooperative fox in snow!

Very well done. You made the best out of the lighting here and you had a very good and cooperative animal.

Nice job. I think you positioned him/her nicely. It feels very natural. Backlighting is tough, but in this case I like what it does for the black rims on the ears.
