Kodachrome 64.
50 mm Macro.
Diffused flash as main light source.
Full frame, hand held.

I was set up photographing American Robins foraging in the grass when I heard a squeaking/squealing noise. On investigation the noise was the Leopard Frog. When I found them the Garter Snake had hold of the frog by a single back leg. Normally snakes like to swallow their prey head first as they're easier to swallow that way.

Very neat looking shot!
I have seen larger bull frogs being held like this by a snake, but those bulls sure can lock those legs straight out sometimes and that snake will never get them down!! :D

Again, ................... cool shot!
