Hello NatureScapes

This is a blue phase artic fox kit that was photographed on the "Road to Reef" on a Greg Downing 'Avian' photography workshop on St Paul Island, Alaska. We had been watching for fox kits as a 'desired species" for several days. Our guide stopped the bus when we saw kits on the road and I was able to hop out of the emergency door on the back and get a few images before they moved into the grass.

I am very appreciative that Heather (!), Greg and EJ and all the other people that pitched in along the way could make this a SUDDEN reality. Hats off to you guys.

Dennis, what a great shot! I had not seen this one before but I love it! The grass really adds to the shot here. I never did get a shot of this guy. I like that he is looking right down the camera. What fun we had!

As for the SUDDEN reality I owe it to all my friends here, you included, but especially Heather for her non-stop work. Day and night we have been getting this thing going and without her we would not be here right now.

Here is to many more! :D

 This is an awesome image Dennis. I love the green and the rusty gravel. Hmmmmm! I think this was an example of a "Plan B" failure. Maybe that is why you where the ONLY one to get this image. Oh well, just alittle jealousy there. Nice job :D

So well done, Dennis. Looks like s/he just hatched out! I love the atmosphere on St. Paul Island and the possibilities for endless photos of birds and foxes.

Wow! Love the colors and the contrast between the blue fox and the rich reds and greens as well as the down-the-barrel look. One minor point. It may well be level, but the pose of the fox suggests a slight tilt from right to left and I would be tempted to rotate slightly even if it were level to start. Again, a marvelous shot.

This is wonderful! The kit doesn't look too sure about you though. You also forgot the CUTE alert!

I like the saturated colors that don't feel harsh. The expression is very endearing, too. Opportunity well utilized indeed.
