In the Polychrome Pass area of Denali NP, AK, well off the road.

Several of these ewes followed their fearless leader, and fearless is absolutely the correct term, down this frightfully steep cliff covered with loose rock. I was expecting to actually see a sheep falling to its death. Fortunately I was wrong.

Never in life will I be this brave. I'm scared just looking at this! Wonderful capture of these guys in their habitat. I like the sense of scale depicted here. :)

I really, really like this. The subject does not have to take up the whole frame as proven here.

Tim this is excellent. I like how the range behind provides depth to the picture and the small in the frame animals provides excellent perspective. Nice job on making an animalscape...

Tim, This is superb! Your timing to have the leader partway down and the next one tentatively looking in that direction is great. The positioning in the frame really shows their terrain. These sheep are obviously far more agile than I. A bit more contrast might help, but it's hard to tell with the small jpg version.

Tim, this says it all about how to get images of sheep.

Tim, very slim chance of one of them falling off, there are a few recorded instances that while being chased by predators in less steep terrain, some have fallen and gotten hurt or killed, they are expert climbers and master of their domain, While in Kodiak we could see many different groups thru out the range, no more than 3 to 6 at most and pretty high above the tree line, in this terrain a bear would have zero chance of catching one, In winter while the mountain tops are covered by snow they migrate down near the coast, by then the bears are well into their salmon dreams or berries dreams if in Denali!!, A marvel of adaptation!!! Marvelous angle,Congrats!!! 8)

The one leading the rest is cool, I agree with E.J. I bet this looks great as a large print.

 Gotta be good to make it to the size they are without having fallen off. Very nice naturescape. Good size in the frame and nice composition.
