I'm planning a trip to Cades Coves and thought I would post a shot to get the juices flowing. I have only been there once but it was my first "real" photography trip several years ago and got me hooked. I've heard the rules at the Cove as to where you can go and how close you may approach the wildlife may change in the near future so I want to get one more chance at making some images like this one.

ELAN IIE, 500mm IS, tripod, Velvia, exposure unknown.

I think you have a winner here. Most wouldn't like the "butt" shot but I like how he's looking over the shoulder, the light is draped across his head, and his back is a bit darker than his head. The only thing I wish is his tail being a tad sharper.

Cheers

I like this one a lot - the head turn is perfect, great DOF throughout and just an overall nice quality to this image.

Ditto Tom's comments. The turn of the head and the look in the eye combined with the light green background make this shot.

Thumbs up, the turn back to the camera makes this very successful for me. Well done for sure.

I also think that the DOF here is excellent as is the pose and light.
Really nice image.
