Golden-Mantled Ground Squirrel and a wildflower I'll bet someone here can ID. I know some will object to the grass this side of the GS, and I see your point, but since the eye is clear and the grass not too OOF, to me it works.

Glacier NP, Montana. 10D, 100-400, shooting from car, lens resting on hand on door frame. ISO setting 200, 1/500 at f/9.

That's a humorous shot- looks like a kid in a candy store reaching for the goodies on the top shelf. :D Nice capture!

The grass doesn't bother me- shows their environment nicely. A touch more room on the bottom would have been nice but I imagine this is full frame.

Cute little guy in his environment. Neat shot. The OOf and in focus grass just sets the place of the shot. Otherwise, you need a mower to clear out the place.

This is really cute. You certainly captured this at the perfect point. :) With the eye, claws, and flower in clear focus the oof grasses don't bother me much either.

I like it just fine as is Lillian, and I personally never hesitate to shoot something with grass/leaves/etc. in front of the lens. Helps to show the surroundings and at times to show more depth to the image.
Love the perspective with this one and nice light too!! 8)

Did it get the flower? Nice image to me. Nice lighting, properly exposed and a interesting subject.

Nice job, like the behavior, some foreground distractions but the cuteness factor overrides it IMHO.

Great shot. The flower is a species of Geranium. Maybe Geranium viscossissimum? Hard to say without being able to dissect it as there are a couple others that look similar.
