This male wasn't charging me, but chasing his partner in crime around the waterhole in a
playfull mood one early morning at Goas waterhole in Etosha National Park, Namibia.
I wish the sun was behind me when I took this image so both eyes would be visible,
but I guess you can't have it all :D

Thanks for looking, all comments welcome and appreciated...

The hidden part of the face and eye s a bit of a nit but still...how many times do we get a chance to get a shot of a charging lion :)

Excellent. The side light doesn't detract here.

Great shot! I get the feeling that I'm about to be run over by this guy, if I'm lucky. Otherwise, I'd be lunch. The way the mane is blowing toward the right while the tail goes to the left makes it more interesting.

Bart -- I think this is fantastic. He's a great looking animal, the strong sidelight really makes for a dramatic shot, and the tail straight up in the vertical frame is perfect. The strong sidewind and dust kicking up just make it that much stronger.

Excellent and very dramatic capture. Looks like seeing that would get the pulse rate up!
