Did a bit of processing an old image with newer programs.  Took this image of the cub looking back at mom in Nakuru, Kenya. (processed the first time today).

Interesting thoughts being I would have viewed 800 ISO as top whack for the D300 and was pushing my luck at 1/160 F5.6.  500 AF-S II 750 equivalent .

Thanks for looking.

Love this, Dave. Such a sweet look on the cub's face-it looks a little trapped in that thorny environment-maybe longing for rescue? In any case- terrific story-telling shot-in the rain no less. Post processing worked a charm. Those old cameras and lenses were gems, weren't they.

What a wonderful story telling image, Dave - a memory to treasure.

I'm impressed that you nailed the focus - with all that grass and thorns ;)

Pretty amazing what modern software can do, especially noise removal. Great setting and facial expression of this youngster.

Sweet photograph. I also am amazed that you were able to get such a sharp focus in the rain with that grass. A skilled photographer, that's for sure.
