Occasionally, the critically endangered Black Crested Macaques (Macaca nigra) would come to the edge of the forest, usually late in the afternoon/early evening to 'chill'. In this particular instance, the group we'd been following all day decided to spread out in a small parking area. We sat down with them for quite a while and were able to get some intimate shots of them relaxing. This was a shot I took of the dominant male, made with a telephoto as I didn't want to encroach on his personal space. Tangkoko National Park, northeastern Sulawesi, Indonesia.
