My lady stopped by to say hello.  Whilst a little tight, she wasn't stopping till she got to her resting spot so I shot a little wide on the 100-400 at 210.

Z9 and 100-400 Z Nikkor at 1/640 F5 Iso 2000.

Thanks for looking.

Not had the Z9 that long, but do find the Wide-L a pretty successful starting point for AF capture.  (I have played around quite a lot but that works well for incoming missiles quite well).

We've had quite a bit of rain recently: thunderstorms/lightning so the lawn was quite lush.. :D.. Newly cut today)..

Beautiful eyes in this one, Dave and nicely timed with her raised forepaw.

We're having the same weather - thunderstorms and torrential downpours - but so welcome after the awful drought and heatwave! Its amazing how quickly the brown cracked earth returns to green after the rain.

Amazing portrait - stunning eye contact.

Very rainy WE this side of the Channel as well...no complaints ...a very welcome respite after this horrid drought.

I can see by this image Dave that you're getting to grips with all the nuances of the Z9 AF,
it does take a bit of time adapting to all the new AF modes/settings.

A beauty! Love the feeling that she is right "in your face" so to speak. Lifted paw a nice element. I'd hate to be a mouse in a corner with that look staring at me!

Thanks Marc and Cindy. The Z9 is a joy and for me, the only tricky bit is altering the focus modes without my reading glasses... (lol).

Great closeup, details, intense look and the raised paw makes it even better.

David,
The focus is sharp exactly where it should be. Superb lighting. A mesmerizing image!

I hear you on the glasses and why I took the plunge recently on lasik eye surgery,
best thing I've ever done, (technically) no more glasses for life,
I now only require them for the tiniest of print in poor light, very happy! :D

Beautiful low angle - you're so lucky to have a fox that comes out during the day. Steve
