Grizzly Bear
D500, 500mm, 1/1600, f/7.1, ISO1250

I like to think this bear's expressing its opinion of the photographers.  But really it's busily licking up the roe that it just squirted out of the salmon.   With fish so plentiful, they were selecting females for the roe, throwing back any mistakenly caught males.  They ate the roe, sometimes the skin or other small bits, and left the rest for the eagles.

Another fab capture Cindy. Like what you are thinking re the photographers. (The grizzly is probably thinking we are all a bit odd with all this food about and us ignoring it)….

Great capture of this bear behaviour, Cindy and perfect angle to get the bear's face and expression - and of course the tongue scooping up the fresh salmon roe!

A fine shot showing this behavior...whatever it means :). Didn't know they would be so selective in their diet. Too bad for the female salmon though...

Looks like the bear equivalent of ice cream, great moment and interesting that they didn't keep the male salmon.

+1.  Ben and Jerry would be proud of both the shot and Axel's take on it. Terrific behavioral shot and text.
