Whilst a little too tight for my own taste, hence not showing before, took this before the 100-400 arrived so was using the 70-200 F2.8 II.

Z7II and 70-200 at 2.8.  ISO 400 and 1/2000 at 195mm.

As I write, she's in the garden now..  Not quite so bushy tailed as she was in April and May, but I hope that is more a sign of the demands of bringing up her kits and the energy depletion rather than anything else.

Thank you for looking.  As always, am hoping all safe.

Whatever is said and done in my life, I have shared her and seen a  small glimpse of her vitality.  Her eyes have an intensity that shouts out loud.

Don't forget she will be moulting her winter coat throughout the summer, so will appear patchy and less fur until she grows that lush winter coat again, and that's on top of her losing some condition as she raises her cubs.  Frazzled mum should come back as foxy lady in a few months.  :)

She's still a pretty girl-love her sweet face , and yes, those intense eyes. I think this would make a nice head shot, cropped too. But I like seeing her nice white-tipped tail.

Carol.

Thanks Carol. I see it regularly with the deer each year regarding moulting, and had a brain freeze re Foxy.  (might be because ordinarily I find it easier to find deer groups, whereas Foxes are more of a rarity regarding close up opportunities).

Frazzled mum has been an absolute blast in experience.  If I am standing, 4-6ft is the accepted zone.  Sitting, she will be comfortable to come within a foot.  No real surprises there, but as I input images that should show.

Whichever way I look at it, a god given opportunity to enjoy and learn first hand..

All the very best.  D

Nice composition to allow the fox to "breathe" into the open space. Although it seems at peace with you, it's eyes still show the intensity of a female fox with kits.

The eyes have it for sure with this lady. I like her pose and the setting.

Been ready for that a while now...  I've seen her on numerous occasions taking food back and have a rough approximation of where the den might be, but I live on the edge of a town and its probably frowned upon to snoop around.   :D.

My feelings are my home might be her "safe haven" as she comes to rest here, as she is now, as I write...  Right now, she is nestling up for another snooze.  8.50pm UK time..

To me, a puzzle with an answer yet to be revealed...
