Took this a few moments ago.  She was sitting in the garden, relaxing.

Z7II.  Nikkor Z 100-400 F4.5 S.  H/H  1/320 F5.6 ISO 500 at 380 mm.. FF and moments before the rain came...

Please feel free to view uncompressed.  Appreciate DOF limited at this distance, but mainly about testing new lens.

Bless her!  She's still around then, how lovely to be able to have her turn up for photos, especially if you have new gear to try out, Dave.  :)

Thanks Carol.... We see her every day without fail.  (it's been noticed though, she's ever so unfaithful as I've seen her with mouthfuls of food to take back to her kits:  clearly donations from the neighbours).  My role it seems, other than sampling the peanut that are put down for the birds, is to provide a "resting place".

I'm hoping she'll bring her kits one day, but judging by the direction I see her travel, it may be some time....

Lovely portrait, Dave - new lens certainly looks up to the job!
Glad to see she is still around - you are very fortunate to have such a special visitor!

Thanks Sinuhe.  She's very relaxed and often comes within a metre.  (been allowed to study her features... Each paw has a slightly different marking and are seemingly, quite unique to her).  It's been a privilege to be able to observe the fine details.

The lens is a joy.  Lightweight, easy to use and tack, tack sharp.  The manual focusing ring sits just where it should... Only negative thought being it needs to be used a lot, particularly on Safari for me, and I am just probably a year away from that.

Probably the best Nikkor I've had.  1.4 extender coming, and I'm waiting on the Z9 and 800 PF.  (no expectations there of before Xmas for the PF...)

She's looking a bit tired. The good news is, she's also as sharp as a tack in the plane of focus. Nice to have such a cooperative visitor.

She does look quite relaxed, yet fully aware with the ears at attention. Sweet image.
