A very protective Ele mum charges our vehicle, trumpeting, ear flapping and tail swishing! We were quite a distance away and well on the track, something certainly triggered an aggressive response, fortunately it was only a mock charge, but she had made her point.

Really love the contrasting steel blue storm front with the bright grassland diffused light.

Cracking shot Marc with the Ele, behaviour and the storm sky. Wonderful image and no harm done to their family too.

Like you, I love the effect such a storm front has on the light and colour tones of the landscape in a scene like this, Marc.  Almost a luminous quality.  Add in the defensive/aggressive body language of the Ele mother and you have a wonderful combination for an image of classic protective behaviour!  This shot brings back a flood of memories of Ele observations and encounters.  Thank you.  :)

So dramatic! Love the combination of the stormy sky and the angry elephant! Amazing shot!

The dramatic sky sets this encounter off beautifully. Terrific image.
