With only 6700 cheetah left on the planet, and classified as Vulnerable on the IUCN Red List, this graceful speedster needs all the help we can offer.
Cheetah face extinction pressure from climate change, hunting by humans, and habitat destruction, which is reducing the size of their populations. Their own genes also pose a challenge to their continued survival. They have a low rate of reproductive success, meaning that as a species they are not always able to reproduce. With fewer offspring, the population can neither grow nor adapt to changes in the environment.

A superb image Marc as always. It's scary the number of species we take for granted are actually endangered.
Make your life spectacular!

+1. Hope that Ken is correct about these cats and threatened wildlife in general.  Hopefully some of the images we display help, even a little bit, to make people think of the future in order to help save the environment for all of us.

A lovely shot, and a sad story. I hope there is some solution yet to be found.

Many thanks for the EP, positive comments and support for such a magnificent cat,
do we really want to live in a world where these iconic creatures no longer roam the wild?
