Captured this late in the afternoon at Lake Clark NPS on the beach.
AS i was processing i realized the tones were all 50 shades of brown. Changed it to B&W and i think its more dramatic and actually shows the bears personality.

Interesting conversion Ramesh. Lovely details in the head when viewed large.

I agree with Dave that you have good detail in the head in the larger view, but I'm not totally convinced this was the best way to go with this particular photo, Ramesh. I wonder if you have swapped fifty shades of brown (well it is a brown bear) for fifty shades of grey, and that actually the natural colour would be the better of the two in this instance. It would be interesting to see the natural colour original to compare.

I really like the eye contact! The B & W conversion is appealing!

Agree with Carol, but I do like the expression very much.

I like this black and white portrait. I find it definitely impactful.

Without seeing it in color I'm a bit torn which way I would like it best. I will defer to the photographer's decision as the eye contact and overall facial expression of the bear is terrific.
