Finally after many years later i made it to the PA wilds - and the reasons - the ELk rut. The first evening I arrived was my best outing! As the light was fading and it was straight to the blue hour this bull Elk slowly came up the hill and decided to stop. Probably one of the best sightings. Later on the battle in the meadow raged between 9 bulls vying for one herd of 6-8 cows -  it was a blast. AS my luck would have it it was overcast and raining heavily the next 2 days that i was there - frustrated i headed home - all my waiting went in vain - but i was not disappointed with what i already had!!

Wonderful sighting Ramesh. Magnificent Elk. Shame about the weather, but at least you were there. Nicely done.

That's the trouble with wildlife and weather, Ramesh, neither of them perform to order! A very nice elkscape and I love the layers from green to blue and upwards. The only thing that would make this better would be having the legs in view as well as the body, but you definitely made the best of the sighting you had!

Very elegant Elk against the lovely greens and blues.
