Well!  It wasn't the teddy bears picnic.... Been foul weather today.  On off torrential rain, but took a chance anyway.

Z7II and Sigma 150-600 Sport at 1/200 F6.3 ISO 14,400.  Good to be out, even if the light was not so good.  Deep woodland in the Deer rut time.  Fancied a crack at the Red Deer but too wet and just not cold enough for the images I had in mind so went chasing Chesnut trees:  (great source of food for Fallow Deer).

Thanks for looking.  Hope all safe and please feel free to view uncompressed.

We know its just a matter of scratching that itch, but this so looks like this sweet little fallow deer is saying 'does my bottom look big in this photo?'  :)   A lovely image of what you found down in the woods, Dave!

The fallen leaves on the moss in the foreground and how it transitions into the ferns in the background, really give a sense of the beautiful forest. The placement of the deer could not be better.

Really a beautiful and atmospheric image.
I love the cold and humid tones of the forest, they give me feelings of a fantastic world.
I like how you divided in planes the composition where the tree out of focus in the foreground guides the eye to the second tree and then to the deer.

What an interesting pose! I like the context-it really gives the feeling of a fall day. I like that you are always exploring and finding unusual images like this, even in the cold and wet!
