Did anyone watch Wildlife Photographer of the Year awards last night? Many congratulations to all the winners. For me, the most powerful image was that from Celine Chien, of an Orangutan in the Photojournalism category, called 'Imprisoned'. Having photographed them close to a decade, it nearly brought a tear to my eye. Watching the awards, it is so apparent that there are some many issues that we need to address. If you haven't seen it yet, do a search on YouTube.
Regards,

Des

I did have a look yesterday at the gallery images of the winners, and I think I know the one you refer to, Des, it looked heartbreakingly so dejected by its body language. So good to see your images of them - like this one, in their native tree habitat, while they have some left.

Thanks for the tip I will certainly go and see. Unfortunately it is not the only question that should be reviewed...
In the meantime, I congratulate you on this wonderful image.
I really like how you decided to compose it asymmetrically with the vertical lines of the trees that balance everything.

Wonderful setting for this handsome animal. Have seen several versions of Wildlife photographer of the year....not sure which one...but your photo is just lovely too.

Great to see the habitat and curious look on the face.
