Very nice effect-it accents the lovely lines of the stag. I wish the big shadow on the body showed just a tiny bit of detail like the shadow on his head.

With permission from Des, I am posting this slight revision with more detail in the darkest shadow area. I just used the "shadow/highlight" function in Photoshop. I believe something similar is available in a lot of different applications.
