Brown bear (Ursos arctos) in Finland. Might have been nice to not have that tree behind, but locked overnight in a little hide you take what comes your way.

Excellent light on this Greg. Tack sharp on the bear and like the use of space showing some habitat..

Great light and winter setting, The bear looks quite alert and interesting that he is not hibernating.

Good observation on the hibernating, this was a cold spring, normally it would have been getting green. Only a few bears out early before the thaw. Greg

I agree with you about that pesky tree - but a lovely view of this healthy looking bear in natural habitat, Greg, and nice light too!

Lovely details in the bear, with mouth open, in very nice light. It looks massive!

+1.  Carol said almost word for word what I was going to write.  A beautiful looking bear in nice habitat.
