giant clam

A young (small) giant clam, but I thought it made an interesting enough image under the schooling sardines.

ISO400, 24mm, f11, 1/200, TTL flash, by Canon and Ikelite.

An exciting photo! Love the combination of fish and clam. The yellow whatever-they-are elements are a nice touch too. Corals?

That is correct Cynthia, soft yellow corals. They are the predominant coral on the inner reef (10km from shore here), brighter colours tend to be on the outer reef, where the water also tends to be clearer.

I was so attracted to the giant clam and the coral so much that I also missed the fish. A very interesting and well executed image. Well done.
