Coyote with Coot

A coyote with remnants of a coot taken yesterday at Bosque. I don't know if I feel worse for the coot or the coyote. The coyote was covered with cockleburrs on both sides. I can't imagine how he must feel when he lays down. He was also missing a lower canine tooth. This is the only coyote I have ever seen that had gray eyes instead of yellow.
Nikon D850, 300f4 PF, TC14E(420mm), f5.6@1/2500 sec., fairly large crop.

I think my sympathies go to the coyote at this point, Joe, the coot is beyond help but the coyote must be driven made by those burrs!

That's just about the ugliest coyote I've seen.  You're really out-and-about this summer.  Your bighorn images are outstanding.

Hi Dean. I finally have been able to get away for about 6 four hour trips this spring and hope to do more soon. i've missed shooting and it feels good to get away for a while.Thanks for your comments.
