Taken in Nakuru NP.  Light very contrasty so imv only image to show is the effect the light had on his wrinkles... LOL.  D300 and 500 AF-S.

Cropped to follow lines on the horns.  Poor old fella has had a tough life.  That blood red eye tells me there is life in this old boy and only the foolish would challenge.

Please feel free to view uncompressed.

Yes, he has definitely seen better days, but he's still enjoyed a nice mud wallow before warming up in the sun again. Every line and wrinkle tells a story, and I'm sure he could tell many - but as you say, Dave, never underestimate one of these bad boys!

Your technique reveals the character of this old warrior perfectly, Dave. Well done!

Impressive portrait of an impressive character - high res is excellent.

BTW - in SA'can vernacular Dagga means something completely different - marijuana!

Really a significant image of how difficult it can be to live in nature.

Oh, my, he does look ancient. I wonder how old....
An impressive portrayal-he definitely looks the part...and dangerous!
