A nice view of the skin shedding behaviour, Gavin. If only humans could do this, it would be the end of the beauty/cosmetics industry!

Carol.
I have often thought so, and the new skin is always so bright and beautiful.  The downside of it is that they are clearly very uncomfortable for a few days before the shed, which makes them irritable and best left well alone.

A beautiful image of the Mamba showing its skin shedding behavior. The head detail is exceptional.

Great illustration of this behavior-nice clear view of the head and shed skin.

I'm not surprised, Gavin - it must take a lot out of them to complete the process!
