When I initially saw this picture I wondered how you survived. When I saw it was taken at a zoo it became more about the image for me, and I think it's an excellent shot that shows elements of both the hippo and its preferred water environment.

Typical Hippo having a wallow! Yes they do waggle their ears, but try as I might, I can't see this one move...... Interesting composition, I would be tempted to take even more off the left side, a line down through the centre of the head/nose, so that the eye is in a better position, Dan. Just my 2 cents worth.
