A Myotis Bat (Myotis occultus) on a moonless night. Taken with an IR trigger plus a night vision camera. Long wait on a cold night but the starry sky was unbelievable - second only to that seen in the rainforest. Only managed to get three shots in the entire evening.
Regards,

Des

As I like to say....."it only takes one". It appears that you got at least one.... a nice one at that. I'm not familiar with bat photography but the fact that you got him with his mouth open exposing his teeth is a plus for me in this action shot.

Congratulations on your efforts. This is a top shot. I like that you were able to capture the bat suspended in midair yet still retain a sense of movement.

This photograph has it all: action, drama, pin-sharp focus and a great background. Photographing bats really must be a specialist form of photography.

Wow, can't get any better than this! Straight on, teeth showing, great wing position, so perfect!
